We woke up this morning and looked out the window to see the muddy Amazon, no more blue water for a while. We have been asked to conserve water as much as possible as the particles in the Amazon would clog up the desalination machinery. The lady speaker that does the talks on the ship explained if you took a glass of water from the Amazon in 15 minutes all of the particles would sink to the bottom and the water would be clear. We stopped in Macapa at 9 this morning to pickup the Pilots and the authorities who would be making sure all the paperwork was correct. This took a couple hours and we were then on our way to Santarem. We had our breakfast and decided to make this a pool day, to kill time until the restaurant opened up Lisa decided to walk the deck and get her steps in, I have already completed my 10 days so I decided to sit this one out. While she was walking she spotted some moths that were on the ship and had me come over and get some pictures.
We hit the pool for a couple hours and then changed for lunch. After lunch we were pretty worn out by then and we went back to the room to catch up on some sleep. They had a Cocktail party for returning Regent Cruisers, not exactly sure why we got invited but we went anyway. The dinner choices kind of sucked, so we went to the every night menu, Lisa got the Lobster Tails and I ordered the Rib Eye.
This was the night that we scheduled a dinner with some couples that Mike has been conversing with over the past year on Cruise Critic. This time we got a picture!
We had a great time at dinner but had to head to the show as it was the cruise dancers and singers, just a terrific group. Like usual after a 9:30 show it was time to hit the bed, we did have an early excursion in the morning.
