First stop Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Arrived in St. Maarten about 45 minutes late, strong head winds through the night slowed our progress. We had a later excursion at 10:15 while the early ones were at 9:00, by the time they got to our excursion they had pretty much caught up. We did the Pirate Sky Ride and 360 degree views, this was basically a chair lift up the mountain and fantastic views of the Island. Coming down you either rode the chair lift back or took the Zip Line down or they had an innertube ride, we opted for the lift. We have a Zip line scheduled in St. Lucia our next stop so it didn’t seem like it made sense to do that here. We have been to St. Maarten many times and this was the first time we were the only ship in town. I guess when you start sailing South on Thursday you have a jump on all the other ships that leave on Saturday and Sundays. Had a great show last night with the Dancers and Singers, Regent is big with the cast and crew getting to know the passengers almost every time we have sat in a bar we see and talk with at least one member of the cast. When they run Bingo on most big ships the Assistant Cruise Director normally runs the game, on this ship it’s the singers and dancers. When we saw the show we felt like we already knew many of the cast so you almost felt as if you were watching your family.
